| At the end of a TV news item about a poor job that an exterminator did at a
church and several homes, the minister of the church asked, "If that's the
kind of work they do for a church, how do they treat the rest of their
customers?"
Well, where do I start? Is it strange that he thinks people do a better
job for a church? Is it strange that, in many cases, he is right?
Perhaps the exterminator is not a Christian. But then, Jesus told
Christians to treat the lowest as well as the highest. So, it seems a
Christian would not treat the church better. Then, who would?
He must have assumed he was hiring a Christian who thought he could fool
God by doing a good job when working for a church.
Maybe it's a little strange that the minister, who should be more aware of
these things, expects special treatment. Does he teach his
congregation this way of living - do your best for some but less for others?
