May God bless and keep you always. May your wishes all come true.
May you always do for others and let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung.
And may you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous. May you grow up to be true.
May you always know the truth and see the light surrounding you.
May you always be courageous, stand upright and be strong.
And may you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy. May your feet always be swift.
May you have a strong foundation when the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful. May your song always be sung.
And may you stay forever young.

There are times when I think I've found the truth.
There are times when I know that I'm wrong.
And the days when I try to hide my fears.
Bless the days when I'm feeling strong.
-- The Moody Blues

Yes, there were many pictures here. They are here now.

2006:

I get gas for a third of what I used to pay because I use a third as much. This is my Honda Civic hybrid. It cost about the same as a normal car and, it's a normal, practical car in every way. No, I don't have to plug it in at night. It's a luxurious four door sedan that I can drive 500 miles without stopping and then another 500 after filling its little gas tank.

Save gas. Saving money is part of why I bought it, but I notice that I feel good about doing something good for all of us: using less of our precious oil, producing less pollution, and reducing the pace of global warming. Wherever I go, I feel good that other folks see one more hybrid on the road and maybe get the idea to buy hybrids.

2020:

I plug it in overnight about a third of the nights and it goes where I want every day. This is my Tesla Model 3. Most people think these are terribly expensive but the price has come down. Now it costs about the same to buy as any nice sedan and costs less to own after that - cheaper fuel, cheaper maintenance, better resale when you are done. You know that isn't why I bought it. I bought it for the fun.

No gas. Driving it has spoiled me. At first it felt strange but now my other car seems strange. I drove my 2000 Honda CRV to the convenience store a couple nights ago. When I came out of the store, I saw that I had left the headlights on. I got in the car and noticed the heater still keeping the car warm and realized I had left the engine running. I've gotten used to the new car. The Tesla works that way - I just get out and walk away and the car shuts down and locks up.

This picture shows the car when we picked it up from the Tesla store. Look carefully and you can see the big red bow in it. I think Cindy had something to do with the bow. A few minutes after this photo, they taught us how to put it in "drive" and sent us off.

2024:

The 2020 Tesla had a good warranty: four years or 50,000 miles on most of the car and 100,000 miles on the battery and motor. Days before the four years was ending I found out I could get a new one with no up-front cost or monthly payment increase. The four year newer Model 3 is very much like the old one and, at the same time, tremendously improved.

Still no gas. It's just a wonderful car.

I'm not alone. Look here to see Tesla makes the most popular car in the world. Look here to see Tesla is rated as the most American-made car.

Too expensive? No, actually cheaper than a conventional car. Look here
