The man at the post office was weighing the package I was about to mail
and I said I wasn't sure if I wanted to send it Priority Mail. He said, "You
can't send it Priority with that address."
and pointed to the return address.
REQUA 30251I asked why not and he said, "They won't put it on a plane without a complete return address - for security - since 9/11.
I said, "You mean, if I were a terrorist I would right now write the rest of my actual return address under my actual name which I had already written on the package, and then when the plane exploded they would be able to find out who I was from the scrap of the label they would find in the wreckage?" He said, "I don't make the rules. I just follow them."
I told this story to my friend, Paul,
and a few days later I got a package
