This picture shows the Windows XP Log On dialog which would overwhelm most of us if shown with all its features and choices, but fortunately, it shows up in this greatly simplified form so we can all understand it.

For the few computer mavins among us there is an Options >> button that exposes the rest of the Log On complexity.

Here's the expanded dialog. You can see how lucky you are to be protected from it.

Actually that isn't quite fair. It's even more complex for the experts because of the option to make it simple for the rest of us - but they can handle it - they're experts.

Don't worry. Just be confident in the knowledge that we have people protecting us from things that are too much for us to understand.
